Greg and I spent this past week in Coeur d'Alene where we were announced as the winners of the Idaho Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Achiever Award. We submitted our application (which was a very extensive application) a while back and we are very excited to be the winners for our state this year. The applicants are judged on their farming operation, management, leadership, and community service. The best part about receiving this award was that this year Polaris donated a Ranger side-by-side for the winners. How cool is that! We are also getting a trip to Hawaii to compete at the national level. Lots of excitement around here!!!
Jacob (one of Greg's best friends from High School) was the winner of the Farm Bureau YF&R State Discussion Meet, which means he and his wife will also be going to Hawaii where he will compete nationally. I'm so excited to be going on another fun vacation with them (we went to Cancun with them in 2007). It's gonna be fun!
As excited as we were about winning...there were some kids that were even more excited than us. They couldn't wait for Greg to bring the Ranger down this evening for a ride.
Wye loved the helmet that was also given to us...
...he loved it so much that I couldn't get him to take it off..
...not even while helping Aimers with her "homework".
