Tip...

Freeze your bananas for something other than banana bread!  Here's what I like to do.  Slice your (RIPE) bananas onto a wax paper lined cookie sheet and flash freeze them for about an hour or so (or 5 when you forget about them...).  Remove them from the freezer and put the slices into a Ziploc baggie to throw back into the freezer.  This way the bananas are ready to add to smoothies or shakes.  Lately I've been using them in my green smoothies:  water & fresh spinach - blend these two together first to prevent little clumps of spinach in your smoothie and then add bananas and another fruit or two to the mix...they look absolutely horrible but taste pretty darn good.  I also like to use them in chocolate shakes for the kids:  Carnation instant breakfast mix, milk, and frozen bananas blended up - they have the same consistency as Wendy's frosties and the kids LOVE them!
